The Baby Swim Foundation is fronted by British Swimming Star Karen Pickering MBE who has partnered with Lisa Bousted from the established BeBe Group to create this unique initiative.
The Baby Swim Foundation (BSF) is a network to connect people, like parents, swimming teachers and health professionals. This is the place where ideas about baby swimming can be developed, shared and explored; questions can be asked and answered. It is for anyone wanting to learn more about taking baby swimming.
The Baby Swim Foundation teaching programme (BSFP), supported by Konfidence, is a continually developing programme teaching babies a foundation of swimming and safety skills working towards surface swimming whilst helping them develop confidence and have fun. The lessons are structured, teaching a variety of elements keeping both the adult & child active and stimulated.
The programme is divided into four levels which compliment each other, being progressive so that the baby is building on skills learnt earlier. Once a child has completed this programme they would then progress onto either the ASA or STA pre-school schemes.
“It is not enough that a child is just confident and happy in the water – they must know how to swim”
The BSF is committed to providing a network of information that is accessible to everyone and an outstanding teaching programme for babies. The ethos of the BSF is one of mutal respect and warmth. The teachers (members) are supported in the nurturing of their talents and valued as an unique person. There is an atomsphere of striving for the best for all teachers and customers.
